This photo shoot was to serve as promotional material for an upcoming performance featuring baroque repertoire. As such, our goal was to recreate this passionate style with the primadonna as the muse and centre of attention.
The baroque style is characterized by romance, drama, and highly ornate decoration. This extends to its musical twin with some of the most influential operas and composers coming out of the baroque period.
Blush roses, period make-up, lace, and stark contrasts of red worked to arouse the viewer's senses and create an intimate connection between the singer, character, and observer that aimed to seduce yet demand attention.
